R177 Moki Rug
Classic style Moki rug. The 47 1/2” x 56” Navajo rug with Spider Woman crosses is hand woven.
Contemporary designs which use first, second and third phase patterns are referred to as Chief's Blanket Revival or simply Blanket Revival. Generally they are woven as rugs or wall hangings and are not meant to be worn.
Spider Woman taught the Navajo how to weave. The symbol of Spider Woman (a cross) was given to the early Navajo weavers to remember her teachings and wisdom.
