Hopi Kachina carver Merlin Kopelva is of the Water Clan. He has been an active carver since 2000 and known for his old style Kachinas. He was born December 1980 and is from the village of Soogopavi on Second Mesa. Merlin carves in the traditional Hopi manner, using cottonwood root and all natural pigments. His old style Kachinas are a favorite of collectors.
