Sterling silver overlay with two bears and a Navajo rug pattern by Roscoe Scott. The 2” x 3” buckle is signed Roscott. Roscoe is known for his walking bear pattern. Made for a 1 1/2” belt.
About the Artist
Roscoe Scott is a Diné artisan from the Navajo Nation who has been active since the 1970s fashioning Southwest Indian Jewelry. He worked as a bench smith early in his career for the Atkinson Trading Company.
He is known for his fine overlay work and particularly for his signature bears along with the row of spiral water signs above them. His finished pieces have a silky high polish overlay against the black background making them quite elegant.
