Description

Sterling silver ring by Navajo silversmith Raymond Bennett. The 3/8”-1/4” band has 3/8” x 1 1/4” asymmetrical Carico Lake stone in a 7/8” x 1 1/4” sterling silver setting. Size 7 1/4

Raymond Bennett (Navajo) is a listed silversmith in Barton Wright's "Hallmarks of the Southwest". He began using “R. Bennett or Ray Bennett” in 1978. At one time Ray was the resident silversmith for Atkinson’s Trading Company.

Carico Lake is a turquoise that comes from a large active mine in Nevada. In the last twenty years it has been mined sporadically so it is a relatively scarce turquoise. The green and blue-green spider web turquoise has a unique matrix and is one of the finest turquoise in North America. The colors and scarcity of Carico Lake turquoise make it a valuable addition to any collection.
