Alvin Calavaza

Alvin Calavaza (born 1969) is a talented Zuni carver who uses a variety of stone, including antler, Picasso marble and fossilized ivory, to make bears, eagles, coyotes among other creatures. He also carves more exotic animals such as the rhino, llama, etc. Alvin is married to Sheila Quam who is a half-sister of noted fetish carver Alonzo Esalio.
