Price: $85.00

Description

F589 Eagle

Picasso marble eagle fetish by Zuni carver Daniel Chattin. The 3 ½” x 2” x 1 ¼” eagle has turquoise eyes.

- The eagle is the guardian fetish of the Upper region. Eagle carries the power of intuition and creativeness, along with the powers of healing and spirit. His spirit transcends personal problems, and he symbolizes becoming one with the Greater Spirit. He represents vision and higher truths.

Daniel Chattin began to carve in 1995, with the strong support of his wife Jovanna Poblano and her family.  “I am a self-taught carver,” he says. “One day I picked up a stone and saw a buffalo in it, then found another stone with a bear inside.”  He quickly moved on to corn maidens, drawn by their importance to Zuni culture and their peacefulness.
