The bear is one of the most important Zuni fetishes. Bears have curative abilities and are a symbol of strength and achievement. They are the guardians of the West. The white bear is the most powerful of the healing fetishes.

Zuni fetish carver TIM LEMENTINO is a young fetish carver whose mountain lions, sheep and other carvings are traditional and realistic at the same time. He is known for his black marble sheep with a white marble face or white marble sheep with a black marble face. Tim’s hallmark is his initials. Tim is also known for carving his Fetishes in pairs and multiples, binding them together reminding us that love transcends us all
