F469 Marble Bear
Bear fetish by Darren Boone of Zuni Pueblo. Carved from marble, the bear carries the medicine of a traditional Zuni Sunface design inlaid with turquoise, coral, jet and mother of pearl. The bear also has a medicine bundle-a wire wrapped shell arrowhead. The mouth is inlaid with sleeping beauty turquoise. The bear is 3” x 2” x 3/4”. Signed by the carver.
The Boone family consists of several generations of carvers. Most of the Boones work in a traditional style with simple lines. Darren's fetishes often have an inlay Zuni Sun Face. He is specifically known for his multi-stone duck fetishes.
