Beaded deerskin lizard Amulet in the traditional Sioux style. The lizard is 3 ½” wide and 7” long.
Sioux beaded amulets or fetishes were hung from a baby’s cradleboard. Later, they were hung from the child’s clothing. The amulet is a lifetime Sioux possession and is kept for protection. The lizard is the Sioux boy’s talisman, and the turtle is for the girl.
