Description

Wood carved dual faced Baule mask. This type of a Baule mask does not seem to have a sacred function and is worn during festivals. Scarification marks are a sign of beauty. Two faces symbolize twins and the marriage of the sun and the moon, which is a good omen for the Baule. Each face is approximately 8” x 10” with a total width of 16”. It is on a metal stand with a height of 15.5”.
