Description

Wood carving-Baule ceremonial mask from the Ivory Coast. A Janus-faced mask represents the duality of nature. The Baule believe we are all both male and female. The dark face represents the male and the red the female. This dual faced mask is a ceremonial mask and also referred to as the wedding mask.

Each face measures 5” x 23” and 10.5” x 23” overall. This mask is on a stand with a total height of 31.5”.
